Mercer Island is a city in Washington state named after the island on which it is located. Covering an area of 12.90 square miles, the island is ideally situated on the southern end of Lake Washington, between the cities of Seattle and Bellevue. It’s connected to both cities via Interstate 90, which is carried by bridges to the east and west.

Named one of the top fifty suburbs in America, Mercer Island offers an excellent way of life where small town sensibilities marry urban conveniences. Seattle and Bellevue, and their economic and recreation options, are no more than 15 minutes away. The island city boasts acres of parks and open space, gorgeous beaches, highly rated schools, and a wonderful sense of community.

With a population of around 23,000, Mercer Island is considered the most densely populated lake island in the US. The city is home to families, young professionals, and retirees, with several senior living communities found here. Residents gather at the weekly farmer’s market, participate in the many social organizations in the community, or are members of the city’s excellent tennis and swimming clubs.
